Do Data Scientists need a break?

It’s been almost two weeks since I wrote my last article. Your girl has been learning except it has not been easy. I dislike complaining about work so this is a tough one to write. In week 5 I indulged my hands in Azure notebooks and Azure Machine Learning Studio. I learnt how to convert HTML files to notebook files (.ipynb extension for jupyter notebook). So, if you ever need any help on that, I am your plug. Did you know python named files after pickles? Haha, I learnt that too.

I am in week 6 of my data science journey and I continued with creating machine learning models in Microsoft Azure. Attached is a Github repository you can explore for Azure Machine Learning modeling. I also learnt how to create these models without any code! Whoa can you believe that?? It’s been an eye-opening journey thus far.

Weekend getaway

I deserve to pat myself on the back for how much I’ve learnt and how consistent I have been. Sometimes, it takes a lot to just pick up your computer, open Microsoft Word, and write your heart away. I have gotten help and mentorship from people (some Data Science experts) who have sent me links, books and given me pure advice on how well to walk this journey. I have had different people reach out to me for advice on how to start studying Data Science, Data Analysis or any course they wish to pursue. I have shared my two cents on how they can be disciplined to start and continue any path they wish to explore. I must say it brings me a lot of fulfillment.

This weekend I took a trip out of town with my friend and it felt good to stretch my legs, take a dip in the pool and smell the roses. If you’ve been working as hard as you can, do some retrospection and appreciate the works of your hand. Take a well-deserved break because you have earned it. And if you feel you still have more ground to cover, do exactly that, and when it’s time to unwind, you will appreciate your efforts greatly.

Again, I ask.

Do Data Scientists need a break? Heck yeah we do!

Why?

Because problem no dey finishhhh.
